Barack Obama, U. S. President, Number#44

As we all know, that Barack Obama, is the 44th president of the Unites States, and, quite naturally, he is going to catch a lot of hell, because he is the first African American President.  Just recently, many parents across this nation, protested his educational speech, to the school districts across this country, and, one thing that I noticed, when observing the media, and that was, it always appeared to be upper class white suburbanites, who opposed Obama very strongly, and it was not just his educational speech, but also in the area of  health care, and, there will be other issues of opposition by this same crowd.  For example, notice, all the so-called, Tea Parties, around the U.S. , the audiences, appear to be about 98 percent white.  Now, this is pretty interesting, because these same white suburbanites, who would not allow their children to listen, to President Obama’s, speech on education, their kids practically idolize black athletes.  The same white suburbanites, who would not allow their kids to listen, to President Obama’s, speech, their white sons grow up and become the number one buyers of rap music.  The same white suburbanites who did not allow their children to listen to President Obama’s speech, their daughters grow up and publicly or secretly date black man.  In fact, several of  these suburbanites, claimed that they did not want their children, listening to the Obama speech, because the speech was socialist, but yet, America is a capitalistic nation with socialist elements.  This country is not the same nation, as Adam Smith, envisioned capitalism to be  in his book,  ” Wealth of Nations”.  The philosophy of capitalism, historically, in the U.S., was the Classical Liberalist view, which consisted of, a limited amount of government, the right to own property, individual competition, and the free market.  However, due to the Great Depression, America, moved from the Classical Liberalist philosophy, and became the Social Welfare State, better known as Modern Reform Liberalism.  This quite naturally, happened during the New Deal Era, with President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and the Social Welfare State, exacerbated, with President Lyndon B Johnson’s, “Great Society Programs”.   Even the socialist elements of the New Deal, and the Great Society Programs, are still presently with us.  Below are examples of such programs, which still exist in 2009:

(a) Social Security, Medical Care, Medicaid, Supplementary Rent programs, and the Pell Grant.

(b) TRIO, Head Start programs, subsidized by the federal government, Job Corp, Manpower, and CETA.

(c) Free Lunch programs, WIC, tax breaks for corporations, TANF, bail outs for multinational corporations, and federal housing loans.

I, could go on and on, about socialist elements, in our capitalistic system, but, the above, are just a few examples, of how the social welfare state, has impacted our society, not just in the past, but currently.  If the federal government, were to, totally withdraw from state  and local governments, it would be a great deal of chaos, and, thousands of American citizens, would be lost and confused, because they really do not understand, the complexities, of the U.S., political system.  Our political system has over 80,ooo, governmental entities, and, many of them could not exist without the federal government.  Too, many Americans, spend too much time, listening to propaganda, and, react out of emotions, instead of sound intellect.  Such Americans, are those who want to explain the complexities of health care, but they cannot tell you, who is their city councilperson, school board president, city mayor, state representative, state senator, and the list could go on, but yet such individuals, present themselves as experts on the complexities of our political system. What a joke.  Nevertheless, even, though, the so-called Tea Parties, across the U.S., appear to be all white, I do realize, however, that millions of whites in American, had to vote for President Obama, because if they had not, he could not have won. President Obama, could have, received every African American vote in the United States, and still, he would not have won without millions of whites voting for him.  Now, this is not to undermine, the African American vote, because, the black vote is very powerful, and this, also applies, to the Hispanic vote as well.  I am just pointing out that, all whites, are not the same, and millions of them, still support Barack Obama even, today.  So, do not be deceived by the mass media, when this very powerful agent of political socialization, has a tendency to be one-sided, when reporting many issues.   Finally, in America, we all must face the hardcore truth, that many people, hate the fact, that a black man is the President of the United States, and believe it or not, a few of these folks are black.  Have a nice day.
