God, Man, and Sin

Many so-called scholars and intellectuals, deny the existence of sin.  To them sin is an illusion or  a religious mirage invented by some fanatic.  It is denied, joked about, and laughed at by man, and, those who believe it to be true, continue in it with minimal thought of its penalty.  Sin is an evil force, and its existence cannot be denied when the whole world lies in conflict between good and evil.  If sin was not a fact, there would not be child molesters, murders, or rapists. There would be no sickness, or diseases.  To some, sin is a weakness of the flesh or the absence of good.  To others it is being indiscreet or just plain ignorance. To  the so-called scholar or intellectual, sin is a disease to be treated by science, because man is not a sinner, he is just sick, and, finally, to the students of evolution, it is the nature of the beast.  However, God declares that:

       (1) Sin is transgression of the law ( I John 3:4 ) .

       ( 2) Sin is rebellion against God ( Isa. 1:2 OT ) .

       ( 3 ) Sin is coming short of the glory of God ( Rom. 3:23 ) .

       ( 4 ) Sin is unbelief, it makes God a liar ( I John 5 :10 ) .

       ( 5 ) All unrighteousness is sin ( I John 5 :17 ) .

Sin is an evil force, and, its presence cannot be escaped in this life.  The evilness of sin can destroy any person, place or thing.  It can bring down any individual, community, or even an entire nation, but, nevertheless, it can be overcome by the power of God.  The evilness of sin is a a folly to deceive you, a force to destroy you, and a fact to condemn you.  When individuals, towns and communities, and nations deny its existence, they are doomed to fail because they try to base law, and all human needs and relationships on the nature of man.  Man is the measuring rod of all things.  Therefore, it really doesn’t matter whether it is capitalism, communism, socialism, or humanism.  Such systems will always have a great deal of problems because of one fatal flaw, and that is, they do not recognize the sinful, self-centered nature of man.  In, other words, they ignore God and deify man.  Sin is why America as a nation is having so many problems.  She was built on the Judeo-Christian Western principles.  Unfortunately, the U.S., has moved away from the basic christian foundation from which the nation was founded.  The following documents are the backbone of America’s civilization:

      (a) the Bible

      (b) the Declaration of Independence

      (c)  the Federalists Papers, particularly numbers #10 and #51

      (d) the U.S. Constitution

It is the Christian values and beliefs that made America a great nation, and, since  we have detoured from such values and beliefs, we are a nation that is going down the tube of immorality.  Politicians and civic leaders want the blessings of God, but they do not want God. We see the phrase all the time, “God Bless America”.  How about America Blessing God?  Can God bless America, when we sacrifice babies through abortion?  Can God bless America, when He  created Adam and Eve, but we allow Leroy and Steve to get married?  Can God bless America, when there is still constantly a great deal of of racial animosity and chaos ?  Can God bless America, when we have too many politicians who will not stand for something and, therefore, will go for anything ?  Can God bless America, when we took prayer out  of public schools and replaced it with sex education ?  Can God bless America, when we have individuals and groups who sit around and argue that religion and politics are separate ?  For such individuals and group argue that you cannot legislate morality, but, they fail to realize one simplistic premises, and, that is, morality dictates legislation.  Every law that you see, came out of some-one’s religious beliefs.  Whether, we like it or not, our nation is under a spiritual curse, and, sin and corruption are running rampant across this country.  I will close by saying,” if you were God, would you bless America” ?

  1. Thomas says:

It is either ignorance or fear that makes one believe in sin to the extent we have it now. The world religions have successfully created fear into the minds of people to the point that they see themselves as sinners and nothing more.Every body is a child of God period. We have allowed fear to cloud our thinking to the point that we forget that at the beginning, there was nothing else but God and that this God is all powerful, and that everything else came from that one source. Yes we, out of ignorance, commit things that make us come back to this schoolyard(earth) to pay or atone for such transgressions. As we come and go, through death and rebirths, we are being cleansed. At a point, during our comings and goings, we hear the sound of the vehicle(Holy Spirit) that brought us to this schoolyard, then life begins to make sense to us and we begin find our way back home consciously. God is LOVE. IT does not punish. IT uplifts and loves. We are all part of IT. Remove your fears. There is no hell.

If we did not have Christ we would not know sin. Because we know there is a God and He is perfect, we know there is sin. America as a nation, was blessed when our founding fathers chose to bless God and build our country on the support of Christianity and the belief in God. When our nations leaders began to stray from that belief you can start to see our country deteriorating. Sin has become what it is because we have tolerated so much and continue tolerating what people are doing and have become numb to what should be wrong. It is amazing to me God hasn’t completely destroyed America. I believe we are one of the most greediest and selfish nations in the world today and self destruction can only come from that.
In the beginning there was no sin. Humans were created to be Christ-like and have such a close fellowship with God. Now we have wandered from one sin, (the garden of eden) and have become so sinful that Christ had to die to save such a sinful world. I do not think that America deserves to be blessed by God, for we have turned our back on Him.
