It is amazing to me how civil rights activists like, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, along with the N.A.A.C.P., and other African American activists, are always running around fighting for Hispanics, Asians, and gays and lesbians. This also goes for Mark Thomas, on Sirius Satellite, station 146, ” Sirius Left “. I have never seen or heard Hispanics, Asians, or gays and lesbians, fighting on behalf of black folks. The most recent incident for these black activists was the ” Dream Act “, which did not pass in the U.S. Congress. The Act if passed, would have benefited 95% of the Hispanic population. Afterwards, I observed several African American activists, stating how disappointed they were, when the Act did not pass. In fact, a lot of black leaders spend too much time fighting for other people of color, harder than these individuals fight for themselves. Not only this, but, many of these other people of color, think that they are better than black folks, and, they have the nerve or audacity to try and look down on African Americans. The point that I am making here is that, let these groups fight for themselves, because when such groups happen to get in power, they are not going to do anything for us(meaning African Americans). All they are going to do is talk about black folks behind our blacks like dogs, while at the same time, taking our money. So Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson, along with other African American civil rights activists, need to sit down and shut up, and, let these other people of color, fight their own battles. This also goes for gays and lesbians as well. A lot of the so-called liberal black leaders, are notorious for identifying the gay and lesbian struggle, with the African American struggle for equality, with Jesse Jackson leading the pack. This is appalling, and an affront to every black person in America. One cannot compare a group of individuals who came out of a legacy of slavery, racism, segregation, political oppression, economic exploitation, and social deprivation, with some one’s sexual orientation or preference. Also, I often wonder what type of reverends, are Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson? Because I have never heard either one of them, talking about Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, they and other African American activists, need to let these other people of color speaks for themselves, because more than likely, these folks, could care or less about black people. For the individual or persons who happens to be reading this , how many times have you observed Hispanics, Asians, or gays and lesbians, fighting on behalf of black folks? Sure these other groups love to use African Americans as their litmus test, when trying to gain their political, economic, and social equality, but, when it is all said and done, many of these other racial groups, despise the African American. Therefore, let these groups fight for themselves.
