Dangerous Temptations

 Men who are in positions of authority, such as pastors, professors, police officers, managers and CEOs of businesses and corporations, and medical doctors, are in professions of dangerous temptations. I believe that the most dangerous profession of them all, is that of the professorship for the following reasons:

 (a) The male professor is constantly around large groups of  young beautiful women on a regular basis, especially if he teaches at a junior or community college, which usually requires a course load of five or more classes and out of those classes, at least  two of them my have a hundred or more students in each class;

 (b) No matter how many female students that a male professor resist, in his course of teaching, there will be a few that are irresistible. Therefore, the male professor has to constantly stay prayed up. Society’s always assumes that if a male professor gets involved with a female student, it was the professor who went after her. When sometimes it is the other way around, depending on the attractiveness of the male professor. Yes, I am very much aware that even though females students may come on to their male professors, it is up to the professors to reject them. In some cases this is easily said then done;

(c) The profession of the male professorship is a dangerous temptation because he has to be very careful about everything he says, because anything can be misconstrued, and he could have a sexual harassment claim against them;

 (d) The male professor must constantly be aware of not to fraternize too much with his female students, because they may perceive it as a come on. This happened to me at my church with some of the Christian sisters. They started claiming me as their own.

  Any heterosexual male professor who has taught over a certain period of time will usually see females students that he is attracted to, and if he says he doesn’t, he is either lying or he is gay. Now just because one may be attracted to the opposite sex, does not mean that he or she has to act on his or her feelings.  The professorship at times can be a dangerous occupation of temptation.

    Temptations are everywhere and they appear in all forms, shapes and sizes. I do believe that male professors or males in authoritative positions in general get a lot of temptation. The truth of the matter is, there are a lot of females who have always gotten special favors and some just like to flirt period. From a very early age, a lot of women learn very quickly that if they act a certain way, they can get their way with men. They then think that they have power, and like to use and abuse that power. I am always so amazed at how a strong, well accomplished and or highly educated male, can fall so easily just by the power of seduction. However, that being said, I think if a male individual decides to be in a position of authority or power, they should be aware of this. I also believe that if that male individual has integrity and foresight, they will see and hear the bells and whistles from afar and protect themselves.

    Males in authoritative positions should always beware of their vulnerabilities and not let their guard down. The way they conduct themselves should always be consistent, whether it be around attractive young women or mature, older women or even around men. I do not entirely blame only the males, as I believe that any kind of power and authority opens any individual, be it male or female to a lot of temptations. That is the reason why, like the professor mentioned, anybody in a powerful position, should stay prayed up and or do whatever it is that they need to do because only the strong will remain standing.

    Females as well as males have fallen for these temptations. When I was in high school a grown women got fired for having an affair with a male student, and even after that they were still together. I think my high school was pretty crazy because in my senior year three male teachers were fired for trying to have affairs with students.In high school it’s not okay, but when it comes to college I don’t see anything wrong with a teacher dating his student or having anything to do with one, but I guess rules are rules.

    This article was really interesting..Temptations happen to be everywhere, but I do believe teacher are a big prey on it. Temptations goes both ways for male and female. When it comes to a male teacher and female in most cases the teacher is to blame. but in my opinion you can’t just blame the teacher because in most of those cases the girl is usually knows what she is doing but if you really analyze the situation you know that the teacher had more too loose. First of all they loose their job, their family and depending on the girl age they could face jail time so my question is if they ever think about all that? Do they really believe they can keep that a secret? Can they really get away with it? But hey nobody is perfect, we all make mistakes that he sometimes have to learn the hard way but why not just think but really think about certain things you are thinking about doing cause it can change your life that quick.

    I believe that professors are like any human being. They have knowledge in the student’s eyes but, this does not create a position of power. I believe, that the relationship between a student an a professor should be with certain kind of respect that is expected in the classroom (it is the kind that keeps the student paying attention and offering appropriate responses to questions), but it is not a limiting factor .It’s really about the individuals in question. In some cases, it would be disastrous for a student and professor to get involved in a relationship. The student could be trying to get ahead, or be misreading the situation, or the professor could be abusing a connection to a younger student. But, in some cases, the professor and student could actually think on a similar level of thought. The age where a person becomes an “adult” is currently 18 in America, but everyone knows that there are 18 year olds who act like they are 5 years old, and 18 year olds who are genuinely mature and understanding. At the end, professor could lose their license for” Dangerous Temptations”.
