Theological Pimps In The Pulpit

Many pastors claim that they will stand up for Jesus, but, most of  them never have been in jail like Jesus. I truly believe that if Jesus Christ was walking on this earth today, he would not have all the jets, planes, mansions and compounds, that a lot of the big time pastors have today. Too many women and weak men see pastors like Eddie Long, Creflo dollar, T.D. Jakes, and the rest of the Cadillac and Bentley crowd, as gods within themselves. In fact, I would hypothesize that most women, especially black women, go to church, just to worship or idolize their pastors, more so than to worship Jesus Christ, who is ” King Of Kings and Lords Of Lords.” I know this to be true, because most of time, I am around these women, they are always hollering about, how good the sermon was, but, if one were to asked them what the sermon was about, and which bibilical scriptures did the pastor preach from, most of them will not be able to tell you anything. However, there is one minister that seems not to be very materialistic, and that is Joel Osteen. Osteen appears to be more of a motivator than preacher, because he very seldom gets into the word of God, and it is probably due to his limited education and lack of theological training. Nevertheless, he appears to be a down to earth person, and he has one of the largest congregations in the state of Texas, and he does not preach, ” Prosperity Theology “, like other ministers who try to project God as a spiritual Sugar Daddy, dropping stuff down from heaven, anytime His children ask. Yes, God will bless His saints, but, the blessings are according to His will, and, not according to theirs. There is nothing wrong with prospering, but  gaining material wealth should not be the main focus of the Christian, or the church. No, I am not saying that Christians are suppose to walk around looking like scarecrows, in a soup kitchen line, but, coming to God just to get materialistic wealth, without gaining wealth for your soul, is a no no. When ministers are constantly preaching ” Prosperity Theology “, they are theological pimps in the pulpit, because they are giving people false hopes. Prosperity Theology, pushes the idea that one just can name something and claim it. Then after a certain period of time, what one named and claimed, he or she will receive it from God. But what about folks who have been running around, naming and claiming stuff for years, and have not received it?  Will not they become discouraged, for believing in such a false doctrine?  Then they will leave the church being mad with God, and God had nothing to do with it in the first. So, be aware of theological pimps in the pulpit. Let it be understood however, that I am not trying to say or imply that Creflo Dollar, Eddie Long, Bishop T.D. Jakes, and the rest of the Cadillac and Bentley crowd, are theological  pimps, but those who preach such a doctrine are. Finally, it is not the fault of pastors, when individuals or groups, put them up on  pedestals. However, pastors must rebuke those who engage in such actions.
