Its true that sometimes as christians, the most people we face problems with are other christians themselves! In a way, its sometimes a trial to call yourself a christian and then be faced with another "so-called christian" that gives you a hard time. What are you supposed to do then? I understand that no one is perfect, thus making anyone capable of acting a wrong way, but it is true that there is a christian opposition. But as a good christian who understands their own purpose for God, we should just keep walking forward and forget about anyone else. Its our walk with God that counts!

I agree with this article in that a majority of the opposition a Christian faces on their way to heaven is from their own people (fellow-church members). However as you mentioned earlier in the article one must realize that they are not the only ones who went through trials, and that these trails are used to bring one closer to God. I also realize that when we become Christians we automatically do not turn over a new leaf the next day but that it is a gradual progress in which one must decide what enhances his spiritual growth and relationships with God and other people and stick to it whether your fellow Christians agree.

Christian opposition is a perfect title for this article because opposition is exactly what you get when you decide to take up your cross and follow Christ. Both sides of the fence will give you a hard time. Christians will harass you if you don't go to church three days a week and read your bible every day. While non-christians will follow you around waiting for you to mess up so they can say "See! You christians are no better than the rest of us. Your just hypocrites!" People think when somebody becomes a Christian that they are now all of a sudden perfect and without sin. Your right bow tie professor, that's just simply not the way it works. All we can do is trust our God and try our best.

yes what you say in on the mark. christians have started a lot of battles do to their belief. i am a christian and i know that their is animosity towards other branches in the religion and not to mention wars because of indifference between other religions. just to the new comers to the faith just read the bible and accept christ into your heart is the only thing you have to do. Don't say someone is wrong in their beliefs cause they differ from yours. like my beliefs are different from Jehovah witnesses but i don't confront them about it.

by the way if the jehovah witnesses believe there are only like 60,432 people going to heaven. Then why do they go door to door recruiting people?that kind of slims there odds.

I agree with you Professor! I am happy to see most people who commented agree with you too! It is unfortunate that fellow Christians do not always act like Christians. They are human though, like you said, just because you become a Christian, doesn't mean you will stop sinning. The really unfortunate thing though is, these people are effecting others from becoming Christians. They are giving us (Christians) a bad name. I get so upset when I see other Christians acting so "unchristian" because it hurts my witness, and others! Our goal (as Christians) should be to become Christ like, as best we can! Secular activities can make it difficult for us to accomplish this goal. That is why I think we (as Christians) should avoid these activities as much as possible so that we can become more Christ-like. We shouldn't avoid being around non-Christians alltogether though, otherwise we would be avoiding all chances of bringing others to Christ.

i agree with the fact that christians give each other hard times and also that our faith is based on our faith in Jesus and that we are saved by the grace of God. But I believe that saying that all the other churches believe in the same thing is an understatement because if they truely believed in the same then we wouldn't have so many different denominations out there. Mnay of those churches dont even believe that Jesus is the messiah or the son of God. Many believe that he was just a prophet. Now i believe the reason there are so many different denominations and that christians give each other a hard time is because first off they are not sticking to what the Bible is saying they have a disagreement with something in there because it conflicts with their way of life and second because a church isnt just filled with praise and worship anymore but also with politics. If we were all to just go back to what the Bible says then everything would be fine and dandy of course it wont be perfect cause we are only human and we do sin, but it would be better than what we are dealing with now these days.

I do agree with this. Most " chirstians" are the one who are the ones doing the opposite of what they preach to others. No one is perfect, but several christians go around turning the nose up at people who come out and say they have sinned. All humans are of flesh and blood, and i think it is wrong for so called " christians to lookd down on people. No one can say they are high enough to judge someone except god, so everyone who goes around judging people should think twice.

I agree and disagree with this post. Yes during Jesus' time there were some fellow believers that gave him a very hard time, but nowadays as a young chrisitian woman i feel as if most of my problems are coming from the people who do not know jesus christ as their lord and savior. Maybe it is who you surround yourself with that will be the cause of your problems. You are right about what it means to be born again because some people do have the wrong idea about what it means.

I recently started attending a Christian church, although I was raised in a Catholic church, and I have to say that I disagree with the bow tie professor because that is not what I have seen, in that church at least. On the contrary, its non-Christians who seem to always have something to say, “Oh that’s not very Christian like” almost as if they are waiting for them to mess up so they could throw it in their face, disregarding that they too are only human. The members at this church encourage each other to become closer to God and if they have questions to ask a fellow church member or pastor himself.

I agree that so called Christians can be some of the hardest people to get along with, but we must not let that stop us from knowing what God’s will is for us. Contrary to everyone else, except the post by EJ, I disagree with you professor stating that it does not matter whether one is Methodists, Church Of Christ, Episcopalians, or the Church Of God And Christ. I agree that to say this is very misleading, to correctly obey God’s word we have to study the truth and our whole life must coincide with the Holy Bible, for this is our guide from God Himself. A perfect example of people being converted to the only church that Jesus Christ established (if you want to know which church He established read Matthew ch.16 for yourself), is in Acts. You do the research yourself and tell me how was one saved…
